Testing Exposure Methods On Large Plates?

Figuring exposure in wet plate is very difficult, was thinking of a help. A way to make exposure tests on large plates? Was thinking of doing 8x10 test glass plates with inserts all around in the super large holders might work. I would do a series of tests using the same camera/ lens/ bellows extension before making the larger image with the full size plate. Still thinking on this one, not sure it will work with. The 8x10 test plate could be moved to another location (arrows) in the holder as needed.
