I am developing a YouTube channel for the cross Canada AMBROTOS KANATA Ambrotype project. To that end I am shooting a variety of videos.
Here is a sample. Flowing a glass 20x20 inch plate.
For those that do not know this is an initial step in the wet plate collodion photography process (1851). The plate is flowed with collodion and salts before the insertion into a silver nitrate bath. After the silver nitrate is added the plate becomes light sensitive (1 ASA or less). You then insert the coated plate into a plate holder, camera and expose it, develop, fix, wash and varnish it, making a Ambrotype.
Its rather more complex than that, but that's the gist of it.
