I have been studying the work of 1910s-1950s Canadian painters. My favorite is Emily Carr, but the list of great painters includes A.Y. Jackson, Lawren Harris, Frederick Varley, J.E.H. McDonald and Tom Thomson.
There subjects, portraits and the Canadian landscape, fit well into my Ambrotype project AMBROTOS KANATA. I learn from their experiences, commitment, locations and compositions. Plus, it is fun to just read about artists! Gotta love that.
